Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of coffee, with a rich history and tradition deeply rooted in its culture. The story goes back centuries, when legend has it that a goat herder named Kaldi discovered coffee after noticing his goats becoming energized and lively after eating the berries from a certain plant. Fascinated by this discovery, Kaldi shared his findings with the local monks, who then began experimenting with the berries. They soon realized the invigorating and stimulating effects of the coffee beans when brewed into a beverage. This knowledge quickly spread throughout Ethiopia and eventually reached the rest of the world. Today, Ethiopia is renowned for its unique coffee varieties and brewing methods, with coffee ceremonies forming an integral part of Ethiopian social and cultural gatherings.
